Get to Lake Pleasant Road and SR74 (aka the Carefee Highway). This is just north of the Wild Horse West Bar/Restaurant.
Go west on SR74 towards Lake Pleasant. You're going to go about three miles.
You'll pass the entrance to Lake Pleasant on the right. Keep going.
After you pass the Lake Pleasant entrance you'll cross over a canal. This warns you that you're getting there.
After you pass the canal you'll rise up a little as you go through a notch in a mountain.
After the notch you will see a guard rail on the left side of the road and you'll see a road going off on the right side. The road on the right is marked by two white columns. You will be turning LEFT at the end of the guard rail, almost directly across from the white columns. Be very careful turning here! (I know from personal experience. :( )
To be CRYSTAL CLEAR, there is no paved road at this point, you are diving right off of the road into dirt, and it's a minor incline.
As soon as you come off the road you'll be able to see us, now you've got to get to us.
In front of you is a fence. Go left and follow the dirt road around it. You'll follow it almost to the canal (a different one than the one you saw in #4) and then you'll u-turn around the fence and head back west. Do NOT go right, that's not a road, that's a remnant from a bad car accident (see #6).
Follow the road along the fence line and continue west. There's one spot where you might think "hey wait, I can't go down that." Well yes you can and you'll be fine.
Once you are in the same general area as the other vehicles use whichever dirt road you'd like to turn left to the parking area. Do NOT go straight and down the second spot where you think "wait I can't go down that," as you'll be right, you can't. (This too I know from personal experience. sigh)
Field Description: This is a renegade rec-ball field with a lot of variety. As you can see from the map, it's got a "jungle area" (lots of trees and brush), an open area (sandy road), a "rocky mountain" (ok it's a hill) and a lot of stuff in between.
"Morgan City Wash"? Where'd that name come from? Keyhole, an online topography map server, labels it as such, so that's what we're calling it.
Do you have any pictures? As a matter of fact yes, there is a Flickr Photostream available here.
Didn't I see a website for this place? Yup, you did, I set it up as an easy to remember site for people to find out more information. www.MorganCityWash.com
