  • Official 2011-2012 Schedule & Info Thread

This Thread will be periodically updated as information comes in. Thanks for your patience and support of this league.

    Schedule

    To be updated

    Entry Fee's & Registration

(first deadline / second deadline / last deadline)

    APPA Payments/Classifications

All players and teams must be registered through the American Paintball Players Association or APPA and hold a current ID that is paid for the current playing year. To better fit the southwest environment our tournaments are broken into a Academic calender meaning they span the year. 2010-2011, 2011-2012 etc. with the season starting in the fall and ending in the spring to avoid extreme desert heat of the southwest. This also provides southwest teams with the unique ability to play tournaments year-round if they compete nationally. For this reason also though, new players will experience making 2 APPA payments their first year. Each consecutive year wil end up being 1 payment per 4 events because APPA's payment system runs yearly Jan - Dec. We are committed to the APPA system at this time because it is the most stable and most recognized in the industry for player performance monitoring and coincides with most other leagues being the WCPPL, PSP and other regional affiliates. NPPL teams using a separate ID or classification will be evaluated on a case by case basis. D3 NPPL does not equal D3 PSP. They are two distinctly different formats which have very different rating systems for classification.

Payment for both ID and for Team Registration for each event must be made through APPA to lock your team in to the event. There is a limited number of teams that the field can support. First to pay are first to play.

    Off Field Rules
All players are subject to all rules and regulations of the hosting field and must provide signed waivers to that hosting field. Players 17 and under may require parent guardian signature for field waiver. Any fighting, harassing, threatening, illegal controlled substances or alcohol brought to the event will result in forfeiture, removal from event, banning or call to the cops.

Each team will be responsible for the cleanup of its table/area. All captains will declare where their "paddocks" are and must keep and maintain the area clean after they leave. Trash, empty paint boxes, food etc. Failure to do so will result in fines/penalties form the league and worse your information will be released to the Field Owner.

    1. Do not stand within 4'-0" of nets or within the area as directed by the field owner.
    2. Do not stand within 4'-0" of nets or within the area as directed by the field owner.
    3. If you are unsure how to use a fill-station ask. Fill station directions will be given by Field Owner at Captain's Meeting. Breaking stations is costly to field owners and can result in delay of game.
    4. Barrel Bags on at all times except during an actual game. Players are not allowed to leave the field without a barrel bag.
    5. Play at your own risk. We advise all Paintball Athletes to maintain best physical shape and obtain a physical each year from their family practice physician prior to competing in Paintball Athletics.
    6. Approved playing mask must be worn at all times on the field.
    7. No unapproved Soliciting at the field. Solicitors will be asked to leave field. If you wish to bring something to sell or set up a cart please contact the field owner before contacting me to get approval.

    Media Pass
All on-field photographers must be on approved Media Pass list. We will only allow 6 passes total for each event. A maximum of 2 photographers on field will be permitted at any given time. Photographers who are paid by a team will have priority to be on field at that time.

    Rules
All game and officiating will be conducted per the PSP 2011 Rulebook. Modifications to those rules will be listed under the Amendments section of this thread. The Head Ref will be the final arbitrator of any rules or final standings. Event staff, workers, field owners or league operators WILL NOT override final rulings. Team Captains are responsible for signing off on each point after that point is over. Failure to do so will result in failure to contest point results.

ALL PLAYERS MUST EXIT FIELD QUICKLY AND PROMPTLY AFTER BEING ELIMINATED/REMOVED/PENALIZED FROM PLAY. FAILURE TO EXIT FIELD WILL RESULT IN PENALTY OF STARTING NEXT POINT 1-MAN DOWN.

PER PSP RULES, NO AMOUNT OF PHYSICAL PAINT CONSTITUTES A HIT, ONLY THE INDICATION OF A HIT AS VIEWED BY A REF CONSTITUTES A HIT OR ELIMINATION

THERE ARE NO PROTECTED COLORS AT THIS TIME UNLESS ISSUED BY FIELD

    Amendments

*Double Roster: To accommodate teams with limited resources each team will be allowed (1) double roster-ed player but not below a D4 level if that team has players in D3 or Franchise. The player must comply with APPA ranking. Be advised that if a team makes it into extended play it could be very difficult to play for 2 teams during finals. Team managers do this at your own risk.

    Age Limit
Age limits of players are restricted by the insurance policies of hosting field. On average field age limits are 10+. Contact hosting field for info.

Not like there will ever be a D3 in AZPPL anyways. So we can get off that subject. Teams tend to stay in D4, just speaking from past experience.

premier is meant for higher division teams to get a solid event style practice in so who cares if there is pro players instead of seni pro....if your worried about that then you shouldnt be playing premier

The standard price for D4 has always been approximately $300 per a team. This last year we offered some discounts to teams to help with the transition and to say thanks for supporting the league. These prices over time are unsustainable as they do not generate enough revenue to keep the league operating indefinitely .

The price increase is directly related to increasing player quality & operating costs. We have prize packages from sponsors this season that will be announced soon as well. My goal is to keep the event at low-cost as possible but at the same time provide a standard of quality. For the goal of making our league competitive with other regional leagues they are necessary. My greatest concern right now is with officiating quality. To ensure teams get the fairest possible officiating we will be bringing in Tim Schropher. There were also other price increases related to systems that keep the league going this year and the years to come. The Steering Committee will convene after WCPPL to discuss the cost increase in greater detail. Anyone concerned with the increase should speak to the local representative to represent them at that meeting.

Kind of bummed D4 isn't RaceTo format. I understand keeping with past formats though.

Can't wait for the season to start!
